HDV is becoming more popular as a consumer and pro-sumer tape transport for use in HDTV television and news productions.
In a professional television facility, HD-SDI is the interface for HDTV equipment. The XLINKHDV provides a conversion from HDV (720p or 1080i) to HD-SDI with embedded audio and timecode. As well, the XLINK-HDV can cross convert from 1080i to 720p or downconvert to 480i with ARC settings for anamorphic, letterbox, or edge crop output.
